From June 8th 2015 the paper counterpart of a driving licence will no longer be issued, and from this date if you already have a paper counterpart it should be destroyed. So the only way to let your driving instructor know your driving record is to 'share' your driving licence information. Please either refer to to D.V.S.A website or use the information below to view you licence details online.
To view your licence details start the process here, you will need your driving licence number, your national insurance number and the postcode of the address on your licence.
Once you log in with these details you need to click the 'Share your licence information option' then click create a code, you can now either give to code generated plus the last 8 digits of your driving licence number to your driving instructor or use the view, print or save option to keep the details and print them off to show your driving instructor. Please be aware that the code generated is only valid for 21 days.
